23 week wait !!

ccaasjf you said you had tweaked the spec slightly I spoke to Motorprovider this week asking if I could add the ipod prep to my spec and they said if i did VW would put my order back to the bottom of the list (meaning 18 week wait) hence i chose not to add it. Did you change your spec after you received the letter and did they say anything about that changing the delivery date ?

They also said in the letter that mine was a week 30 build and they had a Komn number even though mine was ordered in late March and your saying you ordered yours in early February.

SEACAP - I ordered mine 1 Feb and have been told build week 30. I spoke to one of the owners who tells me all their stock has been given the same build week. They order through a dealer in Holland (I've got the name if you want it) , and it looks like whatever pressure was put on VW has forced them in to scheduling all orders to clear the backlog.

I'm going to ring VW Holland who I'm told will be able to confirm build details etc if you quote the KOMN number. I haven't tried it yet but will next week.

When I ordered my GTI through a VW dealer, I had a cut off point to confirm the spec - delivery was 12 weeks after this date (the car was actually delivered sooner). Any changes after that date would put the car back several weeks/months. Seems a tad severe given todays modern technology and communications - why can't customers order direct from the factory ?

Same boat guys I ordered in March and received the same letter!

The wait is killing me but I guess it will be worth it.

Did you order than from the Fatory and when you got it added to your order was that compliments of VW (if it is then very impressed)?
