What does it all cost
« on: 02 August 2007, 15:08 »
Hi peeps, I am new to VW's and was wondering a few things about them?

Cost of a basic service?
Best oil?
Best plugs?
Service intervals?

16v bits seem to cost 10-30% more than the 8v, is this common or am I just looking in the wrong place?

How easy to service myself? only ever changed oil once back when I was 17, might try it again to save on costs.

What other fluids get changed regular?

Imput welcome.

what car is it first off, and really the best place to be asking is in the model specific areas... oil change is a puddle of urine. most bits and peices are very dooable too. invest in a haynes manual specific to your model and that will give a good idea.

cost of a service by garages vary dependant, i've personally never bothered and just done it all my self. dont fix it if it aint broke as the old man says.

noble tuned - and still not fast enough!
