How many miles until remap?
« on: 01 July 2007, 03:18 »
I'm thinking of remapping my car in the future sometime. At what mileage would you recommend i wait till until doing so? If i buy the bluefin do i have to remap the car within a time limit. Or can i buy the hardware, leave it in my closet until i think the car is ready, then remap it?

with bluefin you can remap whenever you want. Do you have the willpower to see bluefin lying around and NOT remapping?  :smug:
you can remap straight away from the first mile, but it would turn gentle run-in into psychological torture
Seing how anxious you are to get the bluefin already, I think you will give in to temptation to remap veeery soon after you get it

why don't you drive for a 1000 miles or so and enjoy your stock engine to begin with, you can always remap later.
Also, look at it from economic-finance point of view:
1) you buy bluefin now - you loose interest on the money you spend
2) buying bluefin is a real option, keep it open, it is worth more alive.  :nerd:

I was thinking i'd have the bluefin lying in my house and as soon as the 1000mile comes up, i can remap it
My car has only covered 270miles, so few more weeks to go. But i have already ordered the carbonio intake, milltek to come when it does come and finally remap.
Does anyone here modified the anti roll bars, my friend says there is big improvement by changing these to say Eibach ones. Don't wanna lower car too much, cos my previous car (rx-8) had loadsa clearance issues.

well, is this friend different from RedRobin?

The guy who bought white Ed30 in Sweden says the car is already hard with the factory suspension, so he decided to wait with KAW springs.
So now I don't know if I'm going to change the suspension either.  :undecided: Otherwise wanted to go Eibach Pro-System-Plus.
I've never test-drove GTI or Ed30.  :embarassed:
