Just a though about where I park

OK, so my insurance is based on my car being parked on my drive outside my house over night, which most of the time it is. But it's not unheard of for me to drive into town at the weekend, have a drink, leave my car and then collect it the next day.

So if my car got stolen/hit/vandalised/whatever while it was parked away from home overnight would the insurance company make a big fuss that it wasn't parked as per the insurance, or is there some leniency in this area?

I have always wondered about this, what if you as above are down as having it parked on the drive but then on the off chance park it in the street and it gets broken into or crashed into....where would i stand?

its rated on where you park the majority of the time. Obviously there will be times where its parked elsewhere, im sure they would rather you leave your car on these occasions than drive back drunk! 

With regard to Drive/street IF there was a claim and they had reason to be suspicious about where you where parking its not unheard of for them to check with neighbours etc as to where it is most of the time.....

Ahh ok, Thanks Martin - I thought that was probably the case, but once I get a thought in my head it's hard to get it out again! Luckily that doesn't happen often!
