HELP NEEDED - with MFA stalk functions
« on: 21 June 2007, 22:48 »
I desperately need to know if the pre 90 MFA SWITCH on the wiper stalk works in the same way as the 90 spec switch. I have a 90 spec switch, which has 4 connectors... i think work as such. The blue lead is connected to Earth, and then basically when the various buttons are pressed, it connects them to Earth. I put continuity on the Blue lead, and the other leasds in turn, and then when the meter buzzed, it meant that the buttoni was pressing was connected to Earth. eg:

Blue and Red are connected when Reset (ie the two zeros next two 1 &2 ) is pressed
Blue and White are connected when the MFA button on the end is pressed
Blue and Black are connected when the switch is in position 1.

What i need to know is that the pre 90 spec switch works in exactly the same way!? The haynes manula seems to suggest it will but i wanted to confirm :) If someone can take the plug off the stalk, and use a meter to confirm the above, that would be great :)

Thanks :)

the switch will work in the same way, its just a case of matching the wires up as the plugs are different :)

I thought as much :) How are the plugs different? Different shapes or something?!
