in the pic above follow the HT leads in their plastic cover from left to right, at the right hand end of the plug leads, you will see the ISV, its got an electrical connector on the back, a vacuum connector on the front and another vacuum underneath.

hope this helps.

Edit:
not sure what is going on with your car - no idea what those pics show, has you ISV been bypassed or something???

The more i look, the more i think it has been bypassed aswell. I supplied new bits for danr but as his is different its a struggle to work out how to install it.

Well the engine pic in rowlers post looks nothin like mine, the black pipe from the air box going across the top of the rocker cover to the isv isnt on mine, so im gettin lost.

Start looking for a ISV jack plug socket first trace it back.
Its proberly been bypassed check for plated work on the head where the inlet should stick out?
Why did you want a new ISV? Becuase if your has been diverted its not the ISV for sure LOL!

I didnt know it had been bypassed at the time

Right been for another look and i have the black pipe from the air pipe, which goes to the isv in the pic but it the runs under the dizzy into what i believed was the isv, there is a plug into the back of this but it doesnt fit the isv i have been sent, cant find anythin round the front of the block which looks similar?

Looks to me like someone has bodged on an 8v k-jet unit, you'll need to find a 16v k-jet motor and pinch the isv pipes off it, as well as the plug & a length of loom as it looks liek theyve chopped off the ISV plug and soldered on the 8v plug!

Either that or thats what really early 16vs got?
