i think 850 is still a bit top end.  but its that time of year and cabbys will be in high demand.

whats the mileage like on it? does it have tax? any rust?

be prepared to spend another grand atleast in the first year of owning it.

id be thinking (from my own  experience) could i get a newer one/ gti/ leather/ bodykit for around the 1k mark

if he wanted to sell it that much he would of MOTD it,  you dnt know wat it needs for the MOT, go look around mate
im sure you can get a clipper for that money

If he's willing to put it through an MOT for you and do pay the cost of any failure work then i'd be more inclined (still not sure if it's worth a grand) if he ain't i wouldn't touch it, for £1k you can get the same if not better cars with mot and tax.

its had new wings by the look of it as a B plate wouldnt have had indicators fitted and they are also missing in the picture. wont be an MOT fail based on the yr but the holes look odd.

I know of a black 1.8 H plate clipper with electric roof going for £1200 needs a little paint but dent and rust free has allready got 1 months ticket ripped roof but no leaks

i'd try get him down to 850, it could be worth a grand but just depends on how good the bodywork is, the mileage, service history etc
