first gti what mods

Hi i am picking up my first gti tomorrow it's a 1987 (E) 16v gti. ive been looking on a few sites and was wondering what mods i could do first.

ive been looking at air filters and induction kits i saw a chip on ebay but spoke to a m8 who said pile of s**t on a 16v. also wondering on cams what are the best to fit eventualy. is it worth getting a full exhaust system fitted or just changing the backbox.

any ideas let me know.

first mods are breathing you want to get in no particular order

SS manifold and full exhaust system

K&N Panel Filter

Get these first then think about camms etc after

i totally agree with the above, but forget about cam`s as you`ll not get much extra bhp for your money as people/company`s aren`t able to get them much better than the standard ones
