when i was looking at quotes with no NCB (but 2 years named driver) when I just turned 19 - i was surprised at how much they'd fallen from when i was 17.

I'm cheaper now on my mark2 gti than what i was with a 1.4 clio on my parents' names.

Go for a 1.8T if you can afford to- and you'll have plenty options in the future for more power - if not get a mark 2 gti cos they're lots of fun!
