Heated seats
« on: 08 February 2007, 21:32 »
I've got a Clipper Cab....'91 and put in a rivage cream leather interior.

i was wondering, where do the heated seats plug into? is there a specific switch on the rivage for this?
i didn't see one when i was ripping the interior out. is it plugged in onto the heated rear window or something?
or is it worth putting in a seperate switch. i've got a real good auto electrician who will do it for me

as we'll be ripping out the interior soon for the Cat 1, E/W &C/L

any help would be much appreciated.

Not sure exactly about the full electrics of it, but there is a heated seat switch on the dash and it is a roller switch which you can select a number 1 - 5 so that you can do the drivers and/or passenger seats. Underneath the seats there is like two white plugs, one I presume is to the seat element and the other I guess will go through the fuse box etc to the switch on the dash, you're auto sparky will know.

I had a nightmare getting and finding this heated seat switch to replace mine, I eventually got one from VW for the pricely sum of £56 and a 10 month wait ! I think I do have some spare ones kicking about somewhere. If you need one let me know and I'll see if I can find them.

where does the switch go? underneath the headlight dimmer?
i'll let him have a look, i may get my guy to fuse them elsewhere rather than go all the way to the fusebox

i'll let you know

No, headlight dimmer is on the right by the handbrake light so the heated seat switch is on the left hand side, so I have fog light switch at the top, then heated rear window switch, then heated seat switch then the hazard lights switch.

Not the greatest pic, but it's with the bundle of switches you can see to the right of the HU. It's second from bottom, above the hazard switch, but it doesn't matter where it is I guess.
