vr6 transplant

would anyone or does anyone know someone i can speak with that know about putting a vr6 into my 16v 2.0 gti mk3. Or if anyone knows of a really good mechanic any advice would be great im in swindon and am willing to drop it off would i also have to change the gear box and drive shaft ? i know there is alot of work involved but i really like my golf at the moment plus its just had its mot and ive also taxed and dropped it 40mm front and back  :grin:

Dont be daft - swap the minor mods over to a proper VR6. There are loads of good ones out there. Swapping engine's cos you've put some diff suspension on it is daft... It'll cost more to insure than a vr6 and you'll have problems. I'm never doing an engine conversion again.......

sorry to burst your bubble but i think its always best advised not to build a car you can buy, i.e you could prob get a VR6 for cheaper than it would cost to do the tranplant, especially if you are paying someone to do it.

if you have a grand or so to spare , get a decent enclosed air filter ,exhaust and remap and i reckon your 16v won't be far off VR power anyway.  :wink:

why anyone would let go of that great 16v is beyond me....with your cash thrown at the right spots on it....it can be brilliant :smiley:
good tough engine that ABF.

nose heavy vr6 weighs 60kgs more.... :rolleyes:

well im keeping my 16v and ive started looking a a stainless steel down pipe and decat pipe and remove the last silencers box at the rear what about the air filter i have yet got one but its always been on my list to get what would be the best one to get. im giving storm developments a call this morning regarding the remap  :grin:
