« on: 04 February 2007, 12:53 »
hi, i'm having trouble with my heated rear window, the switch on the dash appears to be ok, but the elements dont seem to be working on the window, ive took the connections of either side & checked them & they seem okay, anyone got any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Check your fuses and relays first then I would check that your actually getting power to the heating element

I had the same trouble with mine. This was my fault diagnoses.
Checked for 12 v on the left hand side, then on the right hand side and had voltage both sides, which proved the element. Then disconnected the terminals and checked the left hand side. This confirmed the supply to the element. So the right hand side must be the earth. Checked this with a continuity tester and had open circuit. Went to the cable protective boot near the top right hand hinge and exposed the cables and there was the fault. Broken earth cable. Fitted an in line crimp and have had a clear rear window ever since.
