maybe they were built for thrashing but not a 1.4 like mine, i sometimes do but i dont do it a lot because i need the car every week, maybe when i get a back up project car, i'll give that one more abuse than i do with this one.

My philosophy is simlar to the old cliche - Treat em mean keep em keen.

As an example me and a colleague had identical company cars at the same time.
He ran his in as recommended by the manufacturer at 3000rpm max.
I ignored that and didnt go mad but tried to limit it to 4000rpm.

Mine turned out to be the faster car.

well its been at the mechanics all day today says hes test driven it and cant get the smoke to come out lol makes me sound mad but he says he cant feel something is not right . but i will be getting back tomorrow and im going to find a new garage cause he keeps doing things to it with out my permission tells me he put oil in it but i know i topped it up before i put it in i just hate it when the just do what they like also he told me he will do the compresion check this evening and give me a call but he aint and i cant get hold of him now :angry: so if any one know a good trust worthy mechanic around swindon please give me a shout thanks

Well i got my little beast back from the mechanics today and they say they cant find a problem they done a block test and it came back fine they ran it for 6mins and it was good so i guess i dont know where to start. He did say he can feel somethings not right  :sad: maybe i should change the leads and dizzy what do you think oh is the coolant thermostat under the water pump in my 2.0 abf 16v ?
