GTI and German book - running in procedure?

Well,
I've almost done 1000 miles driving like a granny. How many miles should these thing be ran in for? And is it suggested to get the oil changed after the initial mileage? (whatever it may be)

Yeh I read that one cheers.. did you get your oil changed too after the 1000/1500?
