16v fuel pump & gubbins..

  my car smells of fuel & it seems to be coming from somehwere near the fuel pump. Being a newbie i'm not sure what the black box n stuff is all about... can anyone explain???

black box is the housing, the bigger of the  two cylinders is the filter, the smaller one is the accumulator. i did my mate toms the other month as the casing on the housing had split along the seam, apparently its quite common. easy enough to do but i got a face full of petrol at one point!

many thanks. Never worked on a Vdub before, i've always had rare exspensive crap to work to on!
