Insurance on GTIs
« on: 24 January 2007, 23:31 »
Just wondering what insurance premiums you are paying as ive just been quoted £650 from the AA which seemed a bit steep to me as i only payed £400 for my previous car (TT 225) which was a group higher !

Crackin car the GTI tho !!

Cheers Z

Age and value of the car are major factors........ if the GTI is brand new they will load up the premium for that and it also may be worth considerably more than your TT. Worth every penny though!!!

Ours is registered and insured in my fiances name with me as a named driver with Elephant.  When we purchased the car in Dec we just paid a top up to her renewal date (surprisingly it was more than a 1.1 saxo ) but I asked the approx cost on renewal and was told £650.  Renewal notice just came through at £450

Needless to say, I'm reasonably happy with that and haven't bothered shopping around!
