Hey everybody, after a stretch in a (ugh!) Mk3 GTi, which seemed like an eternity, and then an Audi coupe 2.8, which is great ( i've still got it), but not great round corners, Ive rejoined the MK2 fold, and I couldn't be happier!
For years, i've wanted a "mark one-and-a-half"- an A reg Mk2 cos they're so different to other Mk2s......

well....I bought one!

Can't pick it up for a week or so, but its (technically) mine!

Needs a bit of work, but has a hot cam, a big zorst, tax and test, and a printed dyno readout showing 135 bhp!

only cost £325!

I need someone who's a bit of an expert on these early cars, as there are several parts, like the orange striped front seats, and the wheel arches with no bits jutting out to meet the side trim ( if you know what I mean...) that I need, but also, I'd just like to know more about them.

Unfortunately, it comes with Pirelli alloys, not the mims in the pic

Provided it's only surface rust on that sill looks like you got ur self a bit of a bargain - also a rarity ! Look forward to seeing more in the months to come.

The hammer didn't go through once!

AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Turns out I haven't bought it.......GRRRRRR!!!!!!!

It appears that a little while ago, the owner clipped a mercedes (wondered why the arches were scuffed)

So when he went to swap the insurance onto his new ride, the insurance company told him that as the claim is unsettled, there is no way that he can (a) transfer the insurance or (b) sell the car

They also said that he can't admit liability to speed things up, and won't tell him how long the process will take, so, no car for me!

Not happy......

Well, I still haven't got the A plater, but I picked up this B plater on saturday.....

It's been 90 spec'd, but its all good...when I've sorted the mechanical issues i'll make it look earlier (maybe!)

Got an MOT, but I'm not sure how...the rear caliper carriers were loose, and it went sideways under braking yesterday- tightened them up and the knockings gone, she brakes in a straight line and doesn't shake violently at 70 mph any more!!!

The paints been done by a blind monkey and she's got a bit of a misfire, but she's straight, and rust free with a sweet engine and box, having only done around 100,000 miles...

paid 400 notes, so fairly chuffed!
