Power Loss

Rite peeps!

About two months ago the bottom end of my engine ceased up.

So I got a fully reconditioned bottom end which had about 300 quid spent on it, brand new clutch etc etc etc lol

Well got it all finished, and ive done nearly thousand miles in it since.  Its also had two oil changes, and ive been running it in slowly.

Problem is, the car isnt as powerful as it should be!  had a race with a saxo vtr the other night, it couldnt pull away, but neither could I!!! :-[

The car hasnt been tuned up yet, does anyone know whether a good tune up will sort this powerloss out? or is there anything else that should be taken into consideration?

after having my head gasket repaired I had a problem with timing which made my 8v digi feel like a 1.4, it drove slow and I noticed that fuel consumption was down to 18mpg

but sorted now  

guess the other vw geeks will have suggestions

go get it setup correctly, timing could be out slightly

you can get reconditioned engines with guaranteed mileage for 175 plus vat and courier cost included
