mk2 golf vr6
« on: 04 January 2007, 18:30 »
Just wondering if any one could give me some advice or things to look for on buying this car.

Its a J reg, bodywork has no rust, 1 dent on bonnet, dent on R/panel, its not got vr6 brakes, just standard 16 brakes front and rear.

Its has a bmw twin dtm stainless steel backbox, sounds nice but can this cause any problems? what things do i look out for on the vr6 engine?

I'd appretiate any help as i dont want to waste my money, he wants 1200 plus my brand new ats cups and i have to put my own wheels on?

heres some pics of the car below:

Comes with mint rainbow trim with no wear on both front seats, he wants 300 extra for full leather trim

Seems a bit pricy to me.
I'm no expert on prices for modded cars, but you could get a nice standard mk2 for that money.
If you take into account he wants your cups too (£300 ish?), £1500 surely would get that nice mk2 with FSH etc, etc.
(Just my honest opinion)
Computer games don't affect kids, I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music.

The car looks very tired to me.. colour change from what looks like Atlas grey, to a pearl red, doesnt look the best, huge fuel bills! dodgy conversion quality, inefficiant brakes etc etc.. sorry mate, I wouldnt go near it with a barge pole.. I hope it was an honest opinion that  you wanted
Go for an origional car, plenty out there for the right price still
