Cheers for the info - I will speak to my dealer as it sounds like an 'individual dealer' discretion.

Dealer told me £500 which sounded too good to be true. I think it prob is an indivdual dealer type thing as we are based very close to AMD. I know all the MD's of the branch get their cars done. Their R32 is currently pushing 280bhp.

Evening, I'm seriously considering chipping my MK5 GTI early next year, to be honest it makes me sick that there's a ford focus a vauxhall astra a seat leon and a bloody renault megane out there with more bhp, plus if I'm honest, I'm starting to feel that my motor isn't quite quick enough. Has anyone chipped their GTI? If so who did you go with, what difference did it make to the drive, fuel economy and insurance etc.

Mucho grassy ass and a Merry Christmas one and all

Have a look on tyresmoke my friend. You're right the standard car lacks power. The Renault is the pick of what you mentioned and is what VW should have done with the ED30. If you see one on a b road smile and watch it disappear. There more powerful, lighter, have LSD!!! and are great fun. Do it re-map you now you want to! Rant over
03 210 Seat LCR. Badger5 V2.2TIP, Fordge 007p, Wellycooler, Quaife ATB LSD, Nuespeed ARB's, KW Clubsports, 330mm discs, 3" turbo back de cat and still on the standard map!
