mk 2 new head unit wiring probs
« on: 30 December 2006, 15:06 »
Hi all!, Ive recently purchased a new head unit for my mk2 and ive no idea how to go about connecting the existing electric aerial to the new wiring (im sure it sounds very simple to most of you). All the functions of the new radio work when connected with the harness supplied with the head unit, I just dont know how to connect the electric aerial wires up. Included is a rough plan of how the old panasonic stereo was wired up. Any advice gratefully received

on all stereos i have worked on there is a wire off the back of them, not connected into the block, like the amp remote. it is usually orange and also usually has power ant wrote on it or on a lable on it.( it may be blue with a stripe or solid blue depending on amp remote colour it can be various other colours but never in the usual block thing). Do you know which wires come off the power antenna into the head unit compartment? if so post exact colours and markings on them.
