Does anyone know if the front panel on a mk3 polo can be unbolted like on the mk2 golf or is it welded in?

Although someone on ed38 has said they are spot welded in, but if you could double check for me please it would be mucho appreciated!

They are spot welded.
Drill them out and use bolts and nuts, thats what my father-in-law done.
