depends how much the difference is , there will be some difference as new shocks take time to bed in , also the rear shocks will be old and sag too , 8v standard ones will fit on a 16v and vice versus so if its out by alot there is potential you have picked up the wrong set , check the part number imo. this all depends if you got justs shocks or the springs too ofc! , if you got just shocks then they will settle over time but might still sit a bit higher due to being new (rears old and worn) if you got springs as well these need checking to make sure there 16v ones , place em agianst the old ones to check , should match each other.
