Yes, yellow normally denotes a permanent live and red denotes a switched live - it may be necessary that you seperate and swap them mid-loom, so that yellow goes into red and vice versa.

Trust me, you'll be able to get the wires and a pocket in there - you might need to manipulate them to one side or the other, but it does all fit in.

i'll have to give that a try then, thanks for the tip.

i've seen a pocket on flea bay, but not sure if its a decent price or not, would be nice to have that as it would be somewhere to put my phone.

oh is the pocket the same depth as the in dash single cd?

From memory I think its actually a little shallower.

If my garage wasn't such a f*cking mess I'd probably be able to find the one I took out when I got shot of the car, and I'd send it to you for nowt. However, it's too cold for cleaning out the garage now!

From memory I think the pocket was about £18 from the dealership, although the parts guy gave me one that came out of a showroom polo (was having an autochanger retro-fitted IIRC)

From memory I think its actually a little shallower.

that would make sense due to the size of the pocket you wouldn't want it too deep as you wouldn't be able to get your hand in.

I've got to go to the dealer tomorrow to pick up a hose for the intercooler so that i can get mine back on the road, will ask them if they have one as the one on flea bay is currently £16 with p&p.

fingers crossed i can sort out the intercooler and head unit tomorrow at which point I'll be a very happy man

How did you get on man?

swapped the orange to the red and red to the orange like you said, works perfectly!!

managed to get the wires tucked away for the timebeing, when i come to change the speaker i'll probably take some of the trim off so can tidy it up then.

i forgot to ask the dealership about the pocket, but that can wait as the car's running again my head unit keeps its setting.

thanks for your help S11EPS
