Air bag light

hi again just want to know if there are any common reasons for the airbag light to stay on(brought the car with it on ). I know i could get a code reader but are they really worth it ? any ideas on how much it will cost to rest the light thanks

usually either a fault with the airbag control module or one of the seat belt pre-tensioners if fitted. had some trouble with air bag looms on mk4's as well.
