wing mirror adjustment
« on: 13 November 2006, 16:18 »
In my ongoing quest to avoid kerbing my alloys, I often dip the kerbside one whilst reverse parking so I can see the rear wheel and ensure I get close to the kerb but not too close! Yesterday, when parking with the kerb on the drivers side I noticed that when I change the drivers side mirror, the passenger side one changes too.

This only happens when changing the drivers one and not when changing the passengers one. This seems like a fault but thought I would see if anyone else has experienced similar. Maybe it is similar to the climate control where if you hold down the auto button it "syncs" driver and passenger temperatures?

I believe there is a setting on the MFD computer (Highline version on my car) which allows you to set the control on individual mirrors or both mirrors together. I'll have a play/read later to check.

This is normal for VW as it allows different drivers to move the mirrors in one step
