My car just passed its MOT last friday, but I got like a list of advisory's
Measurements
Brakes advisory : RBT service brake efficiency: 83% RBT park brake efficiency: 25%
Advisory items
Front brake discs slightly worn
rear brake discs slightly worn
service brake your vehicle only just met the required brake efficiency. it would apperar the system requires adjustment or repair.
parking brake your vehicle only just met the required brake efficiency. it would appear the system needs adjustment or repair
modified wiring (apparently they have to write this in if you have a sub n amp)
Slight blow at center exhaust joint
slight binding to n/s/f wheel
slight wear n/s/f sub frame mountI know my rear bushes are knackered so thats not a prob and i did notice my discs are getting a bit worn but as for the braking efficiency?? WTF my car stops dead and in a straight line without pulling, my golf stops better than the 51 plate passat I have at the moment

Anyway I found these discs on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VOLKSWAGEN-GOLF-GTi-MK2-MK3-Drilled-Grooved-Brake-Discs_W0QQitemZ290035707058QQihZ019QQcategoryZ23013QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemI know them ones are not for my car but the guy said he can get me ones for my car for £64..
Now because these discs have no brand name on them should I avoid like the plague or would they be ok??? and how effective are drilled/grooved discs?? Do they really make much of a difference???
thanky
