What tyer?
« on: 25 September 2006, 10:52 »
Can anyone suggest a decent tyres. Needs to be a good performer 1ST and formost but last longer than what I've got at mo.Had the conti sport (OK) fitted when new. Replaced fronts with Yokohama AVS spot, which have been amazingly sticky but only going to last 6_7k cost £146 each (not so good). Been told that they don't make Goodyear Eagle F1's to fit the 18, anyone no if this is true??? Had them before and there great. What people running? Anyone got any suggestions? Could anyone suggest cheapest place to get them?

I reckon goodyear f1s are the best and they are on the goodyear website... not sure what the XL means but it is in the eagle f1 gsd3 section:

Dont know what the d3 means but its the later profile - earlier one was GSD2!  The GSD3 looks nicer and being later SHOULD be better!!  Dont get GSD2 cos the tyre will be older.

Blackcircles have them for £130 a corner fitted so theyre not cheap but they are the best in the wet and good in the dry too

Thanks for the help, will probably go for the F1S. Have you  an experience of P-Zero's as my local tyre fitter keeps pushing them at a good price?

I have used PZero Neros on one of my cars - good grip in the dry but didnt last at all well.  Not as good in the wet as the F1s either.
