Dash bulb light!
« on: 06 October 2006, 11:40 »
Hi,

The lighting in the speedo clocks section seems to be a downlight consisting of 2 bulbs. The left hand bulb appears to have blown, took the dash bits off to find it but couldnt find it to be honest!!

Its not illuminating the speedo properly at night, i can see it clearly and its not causing a problem, its just bugging me!!!!

Does anyone know if the bulb is replaceable or will i have to swap the lighting unit form the scrappies??

Cheers,

Matt

Providing it's a mk2, then the bulb you need is a 509T, (avaliable from halfords) bit of a b!tch to take out and get back in though, you cannot see them cos they are held in a bulb holder, and they just slot into the top of the clocks, look for two notches on the top and then just twist them anticlockwise to release them. Careful not to tear the PCB paper on the clocks though.

you see the black square things at the top with wires coming from them? u are looking for something like that but with out wires cos they take there feed from the PCB not wires. these are similar tho to give u an idea
