Horn not working
« on: 30 September 2006, 23:50 »
I found out that my horn has stopped working today when some t@&t in a Lexus blatantly pulled out on me

My question is, does the horn have a relay? I have checked the fuse and that is OK. My car has a duel two tone horn type thingy so id be very surprised if both had failed at exactly the same time.

If its an after market air horn there will be an extra relay and inline fuse. Follow the wires from the horn to find these. Horns on VWs are generally behind the lower bumper on the driver's side. Hope this helps.

the horns on the higher end models do indeed run from a relay, its the same as the fog relay and is one of the 2 metal ones with '53' on them.  Try swapping them over to see if this helps.  Failing that check the fuse, and also the contact behind the steering wheel and on the horn button itself.
