new 2.0 9a can u help?

I've jst picked up my 2.0 block 9a of course :) and i'm gonna re-build it so i know its right! what cam belt do i order for? Golf or passat? also fuel filter and do i order a gasket for the passat aswell! jst things like that, or doesn't it really matter! i know the big and main shells i'd get for the passat and the piston rings aswell and also oil pump etc! would appreciate any help

You need a cambelt and head gasket set for the 9A passat and not the KR. Do you mean oil filter? I found a normal KR golf oil filter fitts no probs.

no i did mean fuel filter, i know i can jst get an oil filter for passat or golf makes no diff really! cheers for help anyway!

Which fuel filter do you mean then? Do you mean the one on the underside of the car at the rear? Just get a standard one for a replacement.

back to this again! i've jst remembered my old gti engine had a new clutch on it, bit gutted or can i swap it over? the block i bought obviously has a clutch on it but not sure what its like, don't fancy trying to change it when i put the car back together! so does any1 know whether u can have the same clutch on the passat as is on the golf?
Also read you post MK2.016v about GTD inur street! How much is it up for? wouldn't mind one as a run about dad used to have one and was nippy as hell!

You have to match the clutch to the gearbox, so if you're planning to use your old gearbox you can re-use your old clutch no problems.  Just remember to get 6 new pressureplate bolts and the correct spline grease!
