gear box oil.

I seem to have lost my Haynes manual and i cant remember how much oil that my gear box holds...!
Can anyone help ?
My car is 1991 Mk2 golf gti 1.8 16v (kr) engine code...

2 quarts, which i think is just over (or under) 2 litres i can never remember!!

just fill it through the speedo cable hole until it comes out the side hole on gearbox. then its filled!!

holds 2 litres, 2 quarts is just under 2 litres so technically isn't quite enough to fill a completly dry gearbox.
But you'll never get all the old oil out anyway so 2 quarts is plenty :)
