heh heh 8v ownage

Escort (Why are they ALL R reg and red????) GTI came pestering me yesterday coming home from a shopping spree... ... and well the end result was... the 8v is quicker in a straight line than an R Reg Escort GTI.

what bhp has an Escort GTI got?

dunn, was it fair from standing starts at lights etc??? not knocking the 8v but unless you have preset 'terms' you cannot say you were racing???? cause one may not be playing, you maybe so you go fast and think you win???? ::)

We came outta a lil village and over two sleeping police man.. so I was doing about 5mph and then onto a little "rumble bit" and then there was a straight road... so it was kinda a standing start... but all along that road I was losing him.

Oh and he was definately racing...

1: he was young,  had a baseball cap on and sat low down ... LOL
2: I didnt lose him "fast" ... but gradually i lost him
3: he had fog lights on

.. oh and either the car is w**k or he cant drive cos I gained more distance around corners and the mk3 aint the best handling car.

Google tells me the Escort GTI is a 130bhp car.

crap car... more like.

you also have to assume the car is what its says its is???may be and 1100l !!!!!glad yoy beat em any way!! gotta beat the burrberry boys no matter what they drive!!

used to have a 130bhp escort xr3i cab mk5 was pretty quick, would have raced any one in it same as in all my motors!!! but only on standing start 1/4mile stuff, on the road it dont count!!!!! let get a 1/4 mile meet organised in the new year so we can all play and compare!!!!!) ;D
