GOLF MK 4 GTI 1.8 rattle noise on random start up!!

Hi there,

Upon starting up sometimes I get a rattle noise that sound like its coming from the gearbox, it last for about 2 secs then goes.
Sounds similar to syncromess gears spinning!!

please help
