Thank you all for the warm welcome guys and Welshgar safe to say the cruisers will be able to do without me on the seafront on a saturday night.

As an added question, i'm right in reading (somewhere on here i believe) the 18" BBS alloys as supplied on the MK4 30th Anny GTI model & the latter R32 also suffer the dreaded scurge of premature corrosion like the MK3 BBS split rims were prone to.

Reason i ask as both models holds my interest as my next VW purchase, although the possible plans on hiking up the tax on so-called 'gus guzzling' vehicles might screw my R32 idea  :cry:

yeah the anni wheels are a pain in the rear to say the least.  many people have had sets replaced even out of warranty.  however, these sets don't have the same chrome finish on them as the original wheels  :sad:
