mk2 gti rev counter and mfa problem

Hi all,

I have just bought a mk2 gti and the rev counter doesn't work. any ideas? also when i got it the mfa display just showed random lines, as recomended on here i changed fuse 3 which made the display work but only shows the time. help please

Mine was like this when i bought it, but the counter & mfa would come on randomly & the coolant light would flash!! In the end i just bought another set of clocks from ebay popped them in & all is well now.
