oh bugger.... the window clips have broken.

I phoned VW and they said they have a 'repair kit' in stock for around £30.00 and the kit includes the metal clips for the window. They also do the whole regulator for around £60.00 but that needs to be ordered in.
I've read the sticky thread above about the regulator's and I'm not sure if I should order one or buy the repair kit? What do you guys reckon?
Thanks in advance

I managed to fix the problem today. The plastic window clips were intact, but the cable mechanism had got caught up and was all mangled. I changed the window clips anyway and the repair kit (Part No 1JM898462 - £32.94 inc VAT) included a new cable thingy.
I found two things quite difficult. Firstly getting the drivers side door handle off (the bit with the electric window controls) but it was o.k once I had prized off the inner part of the handle as the whole thing then pulls upwards off some clips.
Secondly, the wires supplied in the kit did'nt seem long enough to go round the pulley's and connect up to the window clips. I found it easier to connect the wires up to the window clips and then force the wire over the pulley....If you have done the job you'll undersatnd what I mean I think??
I got my kit from VW dealers - Peter Cooper (Chichester) Ltd.

I know exactlly what you mean , its a two person job trying to get those wires on !!!!! and undoing that clip thing from the lock was a pain in the arse as well.......
