mk3 driver electric windows

Hello

My wifes got a mk3 driver and the front electric windows just seem to have packed up.  Just stopped working. Before they packed up, they were working fine but intermittently there didnt seem to be getting any power to them as the lights on the buttons wouldnt come on.

My questions is two fold.

firstly, does anybody have any ideas what it might be ?

Secondly,  while stripping down the passenger door, the wires for the switch popped off,  can anybody tell me which wires go where.

have a look at the wires that go through the door into the car behind the rubber they are known for snapping in half ,fixed mine that way, but sorry i cant help with the wires to the switch as my cars in for another respray
