front engine mounts
« on: 14 July 2006, 00:27 »
right 16v, got a 4 branch with a small flexy welded onto it and a solid engine mount, dont really want to keep the solid mount but dont want my 4 branch to snap, a guy at volksmania told me you can get these really decent mounts which would be perfect and cost around 150 new... i cant remember what make or whatever, anyone know what he may be refering to? i dont want to spend that much on one tho, any ideas?

if you've got a flexi you shouldn't snap the zorst. and even if you do crack it just weld it up back.

dont want to crack it tho, the hassle of getting it welded up is too much for me after all the other problems ive had, just need a really decent mount,

It will be the vibra technics one your mechanic was talking about. A brand new one sold on ebay for about £80 last week.

think i should get the standard one which is still stronger than a vw one or the one thats 3 times stronger than that? my mech wasnt very specifc but i think he meant the stronger one, but the standard one sounds ok too? theres not a super difference between the price so i aint oo bothered which , i just want good results...

With a 4 branch manifold id go for the strongest really. Which apart from the solid mount is the vibra technics one. Ive got one and can recomend them. Very strong and no extra vibrations.
