Ok, I know this is a lame question, but if you don't know, then you don't know, do you? :embarassed:
I now have an original golf ball gear knob but when i went to fit it I found that the golf ball has no theaded part to match up to the gearstick.

So is this bit missing?
Or is the gear stick's threaded end a bodge by a previous owner?
Does your gear stick have a threaded end, or is it just a cut pole?
I could fin a bolt that fits the thread and then angle grind the out side edges off until it fits into the gear knob, or I could cut the threaded part of the gearstick off. If I cut the gearstick though the height will obviously be about 2" shorter and may feel wrong.

So GTi owners with golf ball gear knobs, how does yours attach?
