VR6 Engine - Intake
« on: 05 July 2006, 23:15 »
Hi, I'm looking to supercharge a VR6, but I have never quite understood whether you can use an induction kit/ air intake system at the same time? Anyone know? Also, if an air intake system is useable, I would like to use an itg intake from eurosport (http://www.eurosportacc.com/coolflo.htm), which of the item's on that page could I use?

Cheers

if you're talking about a vortec charger commonly seen on a VR6 engine then you won't be able to use that air filter. you could remove the metal piece and just use the actual filter as it sits just below the actual charger.

see what I mean in this pic?

Thanks Dizzie, I see what you mean. It woule be a Corrado 2.9 VR6 I am going to supercharge and put into a mk2 if it goes ahead. But, those air filters, I suppose the 'cool-flo' one for the corrado would be the one to use if possible, could i remove the heat shield etc on that one? Not sure if the one I'm using is a Vortec supercharger? I would liek to use the on for the Corrado from this site: http://www.vf-engineering.com/

Cheers.

Also, does anybody know whether the Supersprint manifold for Corrado VR6 is useable on a mk2 with a corrado vr6 engine? If so, I assume the supersprint front box/silencer for the corrado vr6 will have to be used too? I Would this fit? Many, many thanks!
