40mm or 60mm
« on: 22 June 2006, 21:23 »
been having a think (i know, taking painkillers as we speak). I've still got the driver sat in the garage with 60mm springs and shortened shocks. The GTI is currently sat on 40mm springs and standard shocks. Does anyone think it would be worth the effort swapping it all over. Am planning on sticking to stock wheels for now...

Depends if you drive up Pinehurst very often!
Or any other part of our glorious town with speed humps abounding now!

Which ever way you look at it - its double the work!

I actively avoid that! Shame used to be a nice shortcut...

won't venture round kingsbridge point until after 7 when the bus lanes open either ;)

  • If in doubt, pay someone else to do it!

mines dropped 40mil on 17s, will soon be goin to 15s tho (i hope if they ever some into soddin production) and Il be going low as i dare. It does depend on the number of speed bumps you have to tackle on a daily basis tho!

thats the best mk3 ive seen..ever! its just clean and subtle..

I don't really tackle any viscous speed bumps, only ones I have to deal with are at work and they go all across the road so just lumps in the middle so no problems.

Had a few scrapes on the driver (is 70/60 really, 10mm lowering caps) but that was on 195/45/15 tyres. GTI is 205/50.

Sod it, if I can drum up the motivation to swap two cars of suspension, I'll do it!
