Valve stem seals
« on: 04 June 2006, 17:33 »
I have an engine ready to transplant into my 8 Valve Gti (Pb engine) but want it to be at its best, the bloke that sold me the engine said it runs fine except the odd bit of blue smoke at start up and while thrashing it a bit. Sounds to me like valve stem seals.
The engine is out of the car right now and easy access to everything.
What size valve spring compressor would I need as Ive looked at loads of different ones, also is it an easy task or am I better off living with the smoke?
