golf driver gearbox oil
« on: 29 April 2006, 14:11 »
Hi i have a mk2 golf driver i want to check the gearbox oil and top it up but looking at the car im not to sure where the oil goes ive looked in my haynes manual and the pictures arnt very clear. where if the hole for toping up the oil is it on top or at the side. all i can see is a big hole with green plastic which is i think over the clutch so i know it's not that one. and the other is just behind the clutch cable it's a a small hole with a black cap on top is that the one.

replys asap.

What gearbox do you have in your car, is it 020 e.c.t ? What year is the car because some older models have to be filled through the oil filler hole and then topped up through the hole where the speedo cable fits into. Its too hard to say without knowing what gearbox you have !
