mk3 boffs help needed ASAP
« on: 03 May 2006, 20:32 »
hi guys a friend is looking for a mk3 colour concept and we have seen one on ebay but the seller is listing it as a 16v colour concept on a R reg.  as far as i know they never made one but when i data checked the reg number on the rac it is coming up as a 16v gti.

the car has the colour concept leather, wheels, dials and bumper trim badge.  does anyone know if a 16v was made? or is this a 16v with colour concept trimming placed on after market?  help needed ASAP any help would be appreciated

Definitely a phoney. The speedo only goes to 140 (should be 160 on a valver)

I'm almost 100% sure they only did 8v colour concept.

I had some clown try the same thing with me and as soon as i looked under the bonnet I knew he was lying.

Ask the seller for a photo of the engine bay that way you'll know for sure.

Hope this helps

it must've had the engine replaced, ask him for the engine number, then do a rac check, or, take the registration number of the e-bay pics and do an insurance check and when you put the vehicles details in, it should come up with the make and model automatically...

yeah I saw that one - and I thought the CCs only came as 8v over here. An engine swap is the most likely, and dont let that put you off, it could be a good thing if you're like the mass majority of mk3 8v bashers on here

Of course as long as the swap has been done properly

No need, the seller has revised the item saying that DVLA had it registered as 16v but on further inspection it's an 8v
