The 1.4 is a good solid car, just not very quick. I know them quite well as i've worked on a few. Any questions then feel free to ask.

I wouldn't bother to tune it, just drive it as it is. Enjoy the fuel consumption.

i am actuallu thinking of getting a 1.4 golf for the missus, as a run about, as i'd rather her kerb wheel trims than my BRM's and also as she does 250 miles per week back and to. to uni, will be much cheaper to run than my 16valver!

Slow as sh!t.. but well built.
