GTi Options List?

Hey everyone,

I thinking of buying a mk5 Gti, my question is this.... what options are necessary to have on your GTi? because the price of these are quite expensive already at £20.335 for a three door!  I was thinking of getting:-

Xenon headlights                        Electrically foldable door mirrors

18 inch monza's                          Parking Sensor

centre armrest                            Winter pack

Metallic Paint

Trouble is the price of all this is at   Â£22.655.... is any of these really worth it??? what do you guys have as an added option???

all i went for were 18" monza and centre arm rest! anything else waste of money imho.

Xenon headlights
An excellent choice if you do much night driving.

Electrically foldable door mirrors
All depends if you need to fold your mirrors regularly.  I didn't go for them.

18 inch monza's
They do look good when compared to 17's. But I prefer a thicker layer of rubber between me and the road.

Parking Sensor
The golf is not a difficult car to park, visibility is good, when compared to say an A3.  (But if reverse parking is your Achilles heel...... )

centre armrest
Cockpit looks a bit sparse without it.  A definite choice. (just noticed that this forum would not allow me to type cock, ooh, er, missus .  It's Carry On weekend on UK Gold by the way )

Winter pack
You may get a bit of this if you choose xenons.  But heated seats are only necessary with leather.

Metallic Paint
If your choosing Black then it must be Metallic

Another option you haven't mentioned, though it is a dealer fitted job, is the  iPod adapter.  A definite choice if you are an iPod user.  looking at £150 ish.

actually now you guys put it like that, i spose your right...good way to keep the price down off a new GTi. 

Some querys:-

with the headlights though, how bright are the normal halogen beams? and how well would they light the road up especially down country roads with no lamp posts?

Winter pack - VW state -  heated windscreen washer jets, low washer fluid warning and headlight washers.... does this mean there is no wind screen washer jets on the bonnet as standard like all over cars but on this golf you have to buy it as an option???

what is the difference between the Multifunction Computer (midline) do exactly? and what does the (highline) mean?
