1.8 GTI £Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£

I am planning on getting a 2001 1.8 GTI,  Black, good condition, average miles etc - How much should i pay. It seems that the range massively - found one in my local V Dub garage and they want to charge 9K which seems steep as the start at about 5k on autotrader .

Any help that you expereinced Golf owners can give will be appreciated.

i paid 6 for my 1.8t from a dealer which was a bit expensive
i would say around 6-7 for a decent example

I paid £8400 for my black 2001 1.8T about a month ago, it's in very good condition and was the same price as some
other more tatty cars, it also has only done 29,000 miles.

mines a 5dr 2001 1.8t with 73k on the clock cost me £5800 with 12mnths tax an mot.... personally i think 9k is WELLL STEEP!!!!

paid £8900 for mine at xmas 2002 gti with sunroof and aircon, red seats, 2 year parts and labour warranty and 30k on the clock.

rather pay a bi more and not have to get the ones that are sitting around the 60k mark

Paid 8k for mine with every xtra on it apart from rain sence wipers, it all depends on condition/extras/factory option/milage etc
