were is the thermostat on a mk4 2ov turbo ?

Hi just bought a mk 4 gti turbo with 39, ooo on it and the thing keeps over heating , we think its the thermostate that needs replacing , if any one else has any help it would be greatfully appreciated thanks , email me at hamill447@btinternet.com
