yeah a remapped tdi will piss all over a remapped 1.8t, or at least be a v.good match they have so much torque that it will out acelerate a 1.8t with the correct setup, well if you can get the traction that is :grin:

Take them both for a drive and see what you like really. I borrow the leon cupra diesel now and again and i love it, it has so much torque and might be worth it for the money considering you halve your fuel bills which is worth considering if you plan to keep it a few years.

I bougt a 2001 golf gti 1.8t woth 75k on the clock, new cluch new typres full service history, 6 months mot and tax for £5100.

Its quick but on average i do around 30 mpg. I tried a 130 tdi pd, and i just didnt like the noise of the engine. But then again, like gaz said it does a hell of a lot more mpg.

Preference really.
